"I present thee the glowing metal, thence thy heart shall glow..." - line from a popular English literature play means, that the glow of gold shall be able to win the heart of the lady. They have an inbuilt love, for the sparkling metals. If money is not the factor while you are choosing a gift for your lady, nothing can succeed jewelry. A solitaire ring, a neckpiece or a simple designer watch can do the trick. With the invention of artificial jewelry the cash factor has also reduced to great extents, since now it is reasonable and easily available in any market.

I recently received a really unusual book to review, <em>Enlightened Polymer Clay: Artisan Jewelry Designs Inspired by Nature</em> by Rie Nagumo. Admittedly, I have never been a huge fan of polymer clay. I actually think it is me though, not necessarily the material. I am just polymer clay challenged. Either way, though, I found this book made me start thinking of polymer clay and jewelry designing in a very different way. Here is my full review of this new book recently published by Interweave: <a href="http://clk.about.com/?zi=1/1hc&zu=/od/metalwirebooks/fr/Enlightened-Polymer-Clay-Artisan-Jewelry-Designs-Inspired-By-Nature.htm">Enlightened Polymer Clay: Artisan Jewelry Designs Inspired by Nature</a>.<p style="background:#f5f3ef;border:1px solid #d5d0bf;clear:both;padding:.5em;"><a href="http://clk.about.com/?zi=1/1hc&zu=http://jewelrymaking.about.com/b/2012/02/06/unique-look-at-polymer-clay.htm">Unique Look at Polymer Clay</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://clk.about.com/?zi=1/1hc&zu=http://jewelrymaking.about.com/">About.com Jewelry Making</a> on Monday, February 6th, 2012 at 05:15:08.</p><p><a href="http://clk.about.com/?zi=1/1hc&zu=http://jewelrymaking.about.com/b/2012/02/06/unique-look-at-polymer-clay.htm">Permalink</a> | <a href="http://clk.about.com/?zi=1/1hc&zu=http://jewelrymaking.about.com/b/2012/02/06/unique-look-at-polymer-clay.htm#gB3">Comment</a> | <a href="http://jewelrymaking.about.com/gi/pages/shareurl.htm?PG=http://jewelrymaking.about.com/b/2012/02/06/unique-look-at-polymer-clay.htm&zItl=Unique Look at Polymer Clay">Email this</a></p>
The important thing about jewelry is making sure it suits the wearer's taste. Accessories don't do much good if they just sit in the jewelry box. Another thing to consider before buying jewelry for someone is whether she tends to wear more silver or gold-toned pieces. Some women combine the two; most prefer one or the other. Finally, think about her lifestyle. Would she prefer simple jewelry or more elegant, dangling pieces? Regardless of what jewelry you choose, this is a gift she will never forget. After all, no woman can have enough jewelry.
Pearls can be scratched easily. They should be stored in a soft place. Avoid putting pearls next to diamond or gemstones jewelry. In the case of a frequently worn pearl necklace, it is advisable to restring the necklace every one or two years since silk thread may weaken.
